The unhackeble psp 3000 (also known as PSP Brite) has finally been hacked, or at least we see hoped and this time without the need for a downgrader tool. MaTiAz's "The Sparta!!!" exploit was allegedly discovered after overwriting the player's name in a GripShift save file with "this is spartaaaaa..." -- with 57 a's tacked onto the end -- and is now available for download along with a new SDK. It's said to work with PSP firmware versions 1.52 through the current 5.02. The Hello World proof of concept video is after the break. psp 3000 Welcome to the real world and be free once again.
Looking Forward To PS3 Exclusives In 2009, PSP Not So Much!!
What are Sony looking forward to from the PlayStation family in 2009? Console exclusives naturally, And "making money." This is a pledge that was made last March and is something that they still very much on target to achieve. SONY say that 2009 promises to be a very exciting year for PS3, with blockbuster titles such as Killzone 2 followed by a fresh, new take on the superhero/anti-hero open sandbox genre inFamous, a mind-bending thriller Heavy Rain, a massive 256 player simultaneous online shooter MAG, an augmented reality, virtual pet in your room experience EyePet, and some more big titles that they have not even announced yet. as for the PSP will continue to prosper and sell in incredible numbers, with some great games coming out, But that's all about the love of the PSP gets from developers and SCEE execs.
If you thought the Americans played with only next-generation consoles, mmmmm well they are wrong, because in a recent list published by The Nielsen Group, we can read that the most used console in the U.S. is the Playstation 2. Playstation 2 continues to talk even with large companies that is been so many years on the market. Below is the list of the consoles more used in the U.S.
1 - PlayStation 2 (31.7%) 2 - Xbox 360 (17.2%) 3 - Wii (13.4%) 4 - Xbox (9.7%) 5 - PlayStation 3 (7.3%)
For owners of PSP1000, it is still possible to install an add-on to launch applications requiring old firmware. The PSP Slim & Lite does not support the 1.50 kernel to date, this add-on is therefore reserved for PSP "Fat" (PSP1000).
Installation:
Download the file
-Connect your PSP to your computer via USB, -Place your PSP in "USB mode" with the "USB Connection" -Right-click on the file you downloaded, -Choose "Extract files ...", (WinRAR is recommended) -Select destination as the letter assigned to your PSP by the system. -Press OK and wait for the extraction of files -Quit the "USB mode" on your PSP -Go to the menu Memory Stick to launch Update 5.02 (Kernel addon)
Well folks, it has been a long time in waiting and to all involved I apologize. Noob911's own tbdawg reviewed the D2SUN/Wii-Clip combo awhile back, but because of technical issues with the site and personal issues on my part I am just now getting it posted. The D2SUN and Wii-Clip used are V1.1 and V5B respectivly. I know they are older models, but the function, use, and ease of install are still the same with the newer versions.
So without further delay I present tbdawg's D2SUN/Wii-Clip reviewand video.

Finally Miriam released the new CFW 5.02GEN-A so yeap he's back and giving us in this new year a new custom firmware.
Features: - Suspend, Reset and Pandora options added in the recovery. - Hide MAC Address can be enabled via configuration in recovery. - VSH Recovery can now be opened with an option in the vshmenu. - You can quickly exit the recovery by pressing the Select button. - Game Categories Plugin by Bubbletune integrated (enabled by default, can be disabled in recovery). - Option to reboot in to official firmware in the recovery, it will remain like this until the next cold reset. (Slim Only, support for the Phat PSP might be added later) - Slim Colors Patch by Bubbletune integrated, enable in the recovery and flash 13-27.bmp to your flash0. This will allow you to use the Slim Colors on your Phat PSP. - Higher homebrew compatibility compared to other 5.02 custom firmwares. - Functional 5.02 pops (keep pops compatibility in mind).
Using Game Categories (taken from the original readme): - Create folders prefixed with 'CAT_' in the GAME, GAME150, GAME5XX or ISO folder. - Fill them with everything you want to appear for that specific category (if you have the same category name in two or more folders they will be mixed). - Keep the Sony file length limitations in mind, due to the name of the category being added to the total length, the length of each filename will increase even more. If a corrupt icon shows up, try lowering the length of the filename. - Boot your PSP, open vshmenu and select the appropriate category.
As for the 1.50 Kernel he will release in a few days. 5.00 popsloader from DA can be used in this CFW and yes now you have two choices before you install 5.02GEN-A
1.-Lite version: This version of the custom firmware aims at supporting game developers and allowing things such as running homebrew, modding your XMB, etc. But removing support for POPs and ISO's.
2.-Full version: as we know them so far support POPs and ISO's.
dev-team promised, 0.9.1 beta yellowsn0w for the iphone 3G with the 2.2 firmware with 02.28.00 baseband. The unlock works exclusively with baseband 02.28.00. This baseband is provided by the latest firmware update (2.2) from Apple. You’ll need to upgrade to this release using iTunes and then use QuickPwn to activate etc. There are plenty of tutorials about this on iclarified, bigboss, and other established tutorial sites. Because it works on 02.28.00, it is available to everyone on the planet. This means we don’t need to unnecessarily expose holes in earlier basebands, which is an important concern. The application is a small daemon that is launched on boot. It injects the payload at boot and also whenever there is a baseband reset. You won’t notice anything about it other than that your third-party sim now works. It’s a small program and unobtrusive. There is no GUI (this is by design). You can add the application using the sources outlined below (coming soon). There are Cydia and Installer sources available, so use whichever you are comfortable using. yellowsn0w is completely removable through Cydia, the command line, and iTunes. for more information about this tools and downloads click here Dev-Team
